Rita Dauphin

Rita Faye Dauphin, 58 of Evansville, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center after battling brain cancer for four years. She was born July 20, 1956 in Evansville, to the late Owen and Nola (Fleeger) Watkins.

She enjoyed woodworking, crafts and was very handy. She was everyone's go-to person and was a loving and compassionate person.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Dauphin, on February 26, 2012.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Charles) Barker and Sheila (Richard) Dauphin; son, Jeff (Tammy) Hanes; grandchildren, Tristian Riggin, Mackenzie Dauphin, Charles Barker, Anthony Hanes, Emily Dauphin, Michael Hanes and Connie Barker; sisters, Brenda (David) Wilkerson and Joyce Noelle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 10a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, Gentiva Hospice or to St. Mary's Medical Center.
