Rick Cruse, 63, of Norris City went to be with the his Lord and Savior at 6:48 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born in Fairfield, IL on November 28, 1951 the son of Lawrence Arnold and Wilma Joyce (Blazier) Cruse. Rick married Lynne Jo Buttry on November 23, 1979. He was a 1970 graduate of Carmi Township High School and had worked for General Oil Field Supply. Rick loved the outdoors and espeically hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynne of Norris City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vanessa and Jamie Sauls of Omaha and Gretchen Stock of Norris City; five grandchildren, Griffen, Madelyn, Wade, Sydnee and Greysen; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Kim Cruse of Carmi; his mother-in-law, Wilma Grace Buttry of Norris City; two nieces, Ronja (April Bolin) Cruse and Robin & Joey Weyerbacher; a great-nephew, Zeke Cruse; a sister-in-law, Paula Lissak; a brother-in-law, Robby Buttry; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, David R. "Crockett" Buttry.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
