Richard Garion "Red" Durbin, 81, of McLeansboro and formerly of Omaha, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 4:50 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Rehab and Healthcare Center in McLeansboro. He was born September 10, 1935 in Henshaw, KY, the son of William R. and Nina Marie (Cummins) Durbin. Richard married Velma Louise Bartley on June 22, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2014. He was a supervisor at Ashland Oil Co. and a member of Dale Christian Church.
Richard is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Greg Webb of Norris City; sister Helen Combs of Vermilion, OH; two grandchildren, Patrick (Kimberly) Durbin and Willie Moore; two step grandchildren, Heather Mitchell and Kristel Stilley; and seven great-grandchildren, Brooklin and Paisley Durbin, Zoey, Jagger and Ty Mitchell, Haylee and Colten Stilley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nina Durbin, his wife, Velma Durbin, a brother James Durbin, two sisters, Addie Garrett and Margaret Gangard.
Funeral services for Richard Garion "Red" Durbin, 81, of McLeansboro and formerly of Omaha, IL, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Pastor Leo Hall officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to Dale Christian Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
