Richard Bane, 64, of Crossville, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 4:27 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born December 25, 1948 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Richard and Georgia (Mayatn) Bane. Richard married Barbara Helen (Roeder) Mick on November 5, 2006. He was a truck driver, steel worker and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he recieved the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze Stars and was a sharpshooter. Richard was an active member of McHenry Good News Chapel in Crossville.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Barbara Mick-Bane; daughter, Sherry Middleton of Gary, IN; sons, Patrick and Michael Bane both of Port Charlotte, FL; two brothers, Terry and Dale Bane both of Hammond, IN; daughters, Connie Miller (Bill Harmon) of Dogtown and Jennifer (Tony) Loyd of Claremont, IL; sons, Anthony (Debbie) Warren of Carmi, Wesley (Sandra) Mick, Jr. and John Riley (Christine) Mick all of Crossville; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Georgia Bane, and his wife of 23 years, Eileen Bane
Funeral services for Richard Bane, 64, of Crossville, will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at McHenry Good News Chapel in Crossville with Tony Loyd officiating. Burial will be in Welborn Cemetery in Upton, IN with military honors by the Mt. Vernon American Legion Honor Guard. Friends may call at McHenry Good News Chapel on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
