Rev. W. Paul Slocumb, 95, of Norris City passed away at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born January 2, 1919 in Massac County, IL the son of Charlie and Nellie Ann (Smith) Slocumb. Paul married Geneva (Finley) Kingery on June 5, 1987 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2013. He served in country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. Paul was a carpenter, Church of God minister, member of Norris City Church of God, Carmi American Legion Post #224, Carmi Lions Club and ran the Norris City Food Bank for 20 years alongside his wife.

Paul is survivied by two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Debbie Slocumb of La Porte, TX and Douglas and Joyce Slocumb of Cleveland, TN; three daughters, Joyce Summers of La Porte, TX, Brenda Jackson of Deer Park, TX and Glenda Wilburn of Cleveland, TN; a step-son, Ray E. Kingery and his wife Jenepher Driggers of Norris City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Fern E. Slocumb, a son, Paul D. Slocumb two great grandchildren, twos sisters, Helen Whitsitt and Aretha Fishback and two brothers, Charles Harry and James Walter Slocumb.

Funeral Services for Rev. W. Paul Slocumb, 95, of Norris City will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Eric Evans officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden with Military Rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
