Revis E. Busler, 85, of Norris City, passed away at 6:40 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born in Raleigh, IL on May 3, 1933 the son of Elmo and Nellie (Grisham) Busler. Revis married Shelby J. Browning on July 5, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2018. Revis graduated from Eldorado High School and went on to attend Southern Illinois University. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War before he could complete his degree. Revis had been a grain and livestock farmer and a member of the Pipefitters and Boilermakers Union. He retired after 28 years from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Revis was a founding member of The Roads Church in Norris City where he served as an Elder for many years. He along with Shelby worked as the church custodians from 1984 to 2010.
Revis is survived by a sister, Bernadine Lovell; and even though he had no biological children, he was a father to his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandra King.
Funeral services for Revis E. Busler, 85, of Norris City will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at The Roads Church. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at The Roads Church. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
