Raymond Scudamore
February 7, 1928 — December 29, 2017
Raymond L. Scudamore, age 89 formerly of Carmi, passed away Friday December 29, 2017 in Aurora, IL. He was born February 7, 1928 in White County, the son of Martin L. and Mattie (Pollard) Scudamore. He married Joyce W. Whetstone on April 12, 1946 and she preceded him in death.
Ray worked in the LP Gas business starting in 1946. He was a member of the Carmi Masonic Lodge and the First Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son, Shular (Theresa) Scudamore of Montgomery, IL; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, David; sisters, Louise Winter, Thelma Riester, and Nola Higginson; and brothers, Earl and Albert and Chelsea Scudamore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 6, 2018 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial in Burnt Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
