Pershing Howell

Pershing Lee Howell, 77, of Carmi passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017.  He was born in Carmi on July 7, 1940 the son of William Pershing and Hazel (Turner) Howell.  Pershing married Jackie Lynn McDermott on July 27, 1961 and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2017.  He was an engineer for various companies along with being a grain farmer. Pershing was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi.

Pershing is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, David and Suzanne Howell, of Carmi, IL; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Edgar and Maureen McDermott of Mt. Vernon, IL and John L. and Jeri Matz of Wauchula, FL; two nieces, Jennifer Kiesewetter and Janelle Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Howell, his wife, Jackie Howell and his son, Rodney L. Howell in 1987.

Visitation for Pershing Lee Howell, 77, of Carmi will be at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with a graveside funeral service to immediately follow in Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi.  Memorial contributions may be made in Pershing's memory to the First Baptist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
