Penny Hamblin

Pauline “Penny” Hamblin, age 69 of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday morning June 14, 2012 at Deaconess Hospice. She was born May 17, 1943 in Mt. Vernon the daughter of Earnest “Roy” and Pearl (Jennings) Turner. She married Dallas Hamblin on April 22, 1967.


Mrs. Hamblin had worked in housekeeping at the 4 Seasons Motel. She was a loving mother and grandmother.


She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Terry Penn of Mt. Vernon; 1 granddaughter, Kailey Penn and 1 great-grandson, Brayden Penn; one brother, Harold Jabo Turner of Mt. Vernon and 2 sisters, Gladys Whitfield of Mt. Vernon and Nellie Cox of New Harmony.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; 2 brothers, Curtis and Frank Turner and 1 sister, Barbara Turner.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday June 18, 2012 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt Vernon with Rev. Leon Clark officiating.
