Peggy "Mickey" Towell

Peggy Lynn "Mickey" Towell, 77, of Carmi, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.  She was born December 6, 1939 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William J. and Delphia Aileen (Milburn) Malone. Mickey married Bill E. Towell on September 3, 1960.  She was a 1957 graduate of Carmi Township High School. She went on to attend Lockyear Business College and also attended Devries Beauty School.  Mickey had worked at Kemper CPA and Botsch and Associates and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church and was active in the St. Polycarp Ladies Guild. Mickey loved playing bingo and spending time with the Bingo girls.

Mickey is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Towell;  five daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Bret Parks and Missy and David Higginson all of Carmi, Sandi and Rick Swindler and Patricia "Pete" and Steve Elliott all of Louisville,KY,  and Jenn and Nick Taylor of Winthrop Harbor, IL; sister, Sandi and Dan Price of Herod, IL; daughter-in-law, Terra Towell of Thompsonville; 13 grandchildren, Mason Towell, Ashley (Derek) Bauer, Whitney Zenner, Courtney (Jeremy) Wix, Jonathan (Melinda) Girot, Regan (Eric) Bleemel, Brady (Briley) Puntney, Nick Weems, Peighton Parks, Jake Higginson, Samantha Higginson, Corey Taylor and Maggie Taylor and 10 great-grandchildren, Avery and Finley Bauer, Preston and Piper Wix, Briar and Brinley Girot, Emery Bleemel and Hallie, Hendrix and Presli Puntney and five special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William P. "Billy" Towell on December 28, 2008.

Funeral services for Mickey Towell, 77, of Carmi, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Pastor Tom Gholson officiating. Burial will be in St. Polycarp Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Mickey's memory to Smile on Down Syndrome, Po Box 994, Newburgh, IN, 47630 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
