Pauline Yates Newcomb, 95 of Carmi, passed away Friday morning May 22, 2015 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born June 12, 1919 in Eldorado, the daughter of Luther and Tina (Watson) Yates. She married Cecil Newcomb July 6, 1935 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1999.
She attended Cherry Street Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don (Diane) Newcomb of Evansville, IN; a daughter-in-law, Laura Dell Newcomb of Carmi; one sister-in-law, Ann Yates of Attalla, AL; 11 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; daughter, Wilma Jean Kircher; two sons, James and Robert Newcomb; granddaughter, Dona Pitegoff; two grandsons, Jeff and Steven Mobley; one great-granddaughter, Kirstan Nicole Chamness; one great-grandson, Richard Lee Travelstead, Jr.; and five brothers, Harry, Oscar, Clyde, Claude and Roscoe Yates.
Funeral services with be on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Chaplain Mike Fields officiating.
