Paul Barrett

Paul E. “Buddy” Garrett, 71, of Mt. Vernon, IN died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at his home. Paul was born December 10, 1932 in Griffin, Indiana son of Denzil and Katherine (Hoehn) Garrett. He was a carpenter with Local #90. Paul served with the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Owen Dunn American Legion Post 5 in Mt. Vernon and VFW Post #6576 in Wadesville, IN. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1996.
He is survived by two sons, Paul, Jr. of California and Denzil of Hawaii, step sons, Miles Duncan of Mt. Vernon, Grover Duncan of Rhode Island and Randy Duncan of Evansville, IN; 2 daughters, Raelene, and Stephanie Cook
a step daughter, Kathy Wilkerson of Washington, IN. four sisters, Madeline and Galen Overton of Wadesville, IN Diana Elliott, Betty and Terry Barnes and Jeannie and Tom Jones all of Mt. Vernon. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 12, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until service time at Austin Funeral Home. There will be no graveside service. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to the VNA Hospice. Arbor Cremation Center at Austin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
