Pamela Gayle (Adamson) Smith, 61, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, died at home, surrounded by her family she loved on December 19, 2007.
Pamela was born June 5, 1946 in Posey County to Charles and Aletha Adamson. She was a homemaker and in earlier years worked in retail. Pam was a poet. She was a member of the Internet Prose and Poem Society. Her poetry was published in several well-known books including Chicken Soup for the Soul. She enjoyed writing poems for special family occasions. Pamela loved spending time with her grandchildren and working with crafts. She had a great love of music and was a talented singer. Pam was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.

She is survived by:
Her husband, John W. Smith of 38 years

Three daughters:
Shannon Scully and husband, Sean of Baton Rouge, LA
Jennifer Woolsey and husband, Dwayne of Princeton, IN
Misti West of Mt. Vernon, IN

Two brothers:
Dennis Adamson and wife, Kathy of Mt. Vernon, IN
Gary Adamson and wife, Marcie of Enfield, IL

Two sisters:
Debra Tingley of Evansville, IN
Sherri Stafford and husband, Steve of Evansville, IN

Nine Grandchildren:
Seth and Tara Mosley, Sabrina, Brandon and Zachary Woolsey, Austin and Averie Holbrook, Jonathan and Nicholas West

Life long friend, Rosie Ashworth

Special thanks to Dr. Fox, Dr. Rice, Michael Adamson, and Hospice for their caring kindness.

Memorial Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 E. 4th Mt. Vernon, Indiana with Minister Jim Sturgeon officiating.

Friends may call 10 am until service time, Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society or the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
