Pamela G. Dixon, 71, of Norris City, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at 3:05 p.m. at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born on June 24, 1942 in Heralds Prairie Township to Paul and Leda (Martin) Knight. Pam worked as a school teacher, bookkeeper, and small business owner.

Pam graduated in 1960 from Norris City Community High School and Southern Illinois University. She married Don Dixon on December 5, 1964. Pam enjoyed genealogy, scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Don Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Mark Blakely of Indianapolis, IN; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Amy Dixon of Carmi; three grandchildren, Payton Dixon, Trey Dixon, and Aida Blakely; and one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Mary Knight of New Jersey.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leda (Martin) Knight; and one sister Karen Knight.

Funeral services for Pamela G Dixon, 71, of Norris City, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev Mike Buckman, Rev. Jon Westfall, and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. The family requests that memorials be made to the Enfield United Methodist Church or the Susan G. Komen Foundation and will be accepted at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.

Pam's family wishes to thank the Wabash Christian Retirement Center, Hospice of Southern Illinois, and Campbell Funeral Home for the care and compassion shown to Pam during this difficult time.
