Oscar M. "Trey" Duncan III, age 50 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday morning April 16, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born August 5, 1963 in Little Rock, AR, the son of Oscar M. and Sharon (Dreier) Duncan, Jr. He married Sheila Gruber on June 11, 1999.
Trey worked as an operator and participated in the Emergency Safety Team at Sabic in Mt. Vernon. He was a 1981 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and attended USI in Evansville. He was a co-owner and D.J. of Music Asylum. Trey was an eagle scout. He loved target shooting. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Sheila; sons, Ian (Amanda) Duncan of Estero, FL, Oscar M. "Tory" ( fiance, Sarah Kercher) Duncan IV of Naples, FL and John Gruber of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Olivia Johnson of Evansville; his mother, Sharon Duncan of Gladstone, MO; grandchildren, Abhayanna and Noah Duncan and Leif Kercher; sisters, Pamela Duncan and Sara Seyerle both of Gladstone, MO. He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday April 17, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon. A private burial will be held on Friday. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
