Orley Junior Bryant, 86, of Norris City passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 9:25 p.m. at his home. He was born in Herald, IL on October 6, 1926 the son of Orley A. and Lottie J. (Catlin) Bryant. Orley married Millie Jean Bryant on June 14, 1947 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2006. He then married Eva Mae (Townsley) McGraw on January 16, 2009. Orley worked in the oil fields of Mt. Carmel and eventually they moved to Bedford Park, IL where he retired from the heating and air conditioning profession as a service engineer. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Norris City, a life member of the Carmi American Legion Post #224 and the Carmi VFW Post #3851.

Surviving are his wife of 4 years, Eva of Norris City; two step-children, Amanda Gavette and Michael McGraw; four nieces, Glenda Maynard Norris City, Phyllis Stockton of Beaverton, OR, Karen Young of Mt. Carmel and Kathie Jensen of Marion; five nephews, Lee Frymire of Evansville, IN, Jerry Holman, Charlie Stewart, David Stewart and John Stewart all of Cobden, and Roger Stewart of Anna. Orley was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael David Bryant in 1949 and Ronald Eugene Bryant in 1948; and two sisters, Eva McNeil and Veda M. Stewart.Funeral Services for Orley Junior Bryant, 86 of Norris City will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Dennis Reed officiating. Entombment will be in Plainview Cemetery near Norris City with full military honors by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Thursday after 9 a.m.
