Norris Utley

Norris E. Utley, 69, of Mt. Vernon, IN died at 8:35 PM, Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at his home in Mt. Vernon, IN. He was born September 28, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, IN, son of Rudy and Catherine (Mattingly) Utley. Norris worked for Pioneer Seed for 27 years and retired from Warehouse Services, Inc. He was an avid horseback rider and a member of the Big River Bend Appaloosa Horse Club and Posey County Saddle Club. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverley (McDurmon) Utley, one son, Troy Utley and his wife Becky of Mt. Vernon, IN, one daughter, Shelly Goad and her husband Jeff of Wadesville, IN, one brother, Jerry Utley, two sisters, Nancy Daly and Janice Weir all of Mt. Vernon, 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Folz, Riley and Haley Goad, and one great-grandchild, Chloe` Farley.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy Dekemper officiating. Burial will be at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 17, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street in Mt. Vernon.
