Neda Kane

Neda Kane, 100, of Carmi, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 3:04 p.m. at The Heart Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born on April 7, 1914 in Broughton, IL, the daughter of John and Lily (Richardson) Kelly. Neda married John Lawrence Kane on June 6, 1934 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1989.

Neda is survived by Larry (Linda) Kane, Effingham, IL, Kelly (Pat) Kane of Galesburg, IL, David (Kay) Sutton, Topsham, ME, Paula (Don) Holler, Oswego, IL and Nancy Smith of Kansas City, MO; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a brother Captain (ret), George (Peggy) Kelly, Alexandria, VA. and many nieces and nephews.

Neda Kane was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Kane; a granddaughter, Rachel Kane and Dr. Kelly Sutton.

Funeral services for Neda Kane, 100, of Carmi, will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi. Burial will be in St. Polycarp Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Polycarp Catholic Chruch with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
