Mildred Cummins

Mildred G. Cummins, age 94 of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday evening June 14, 2012 at Deaconess Hospice. She was born November 17, 1917 in Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Mureal (Jeffries) Biggs.


She married Rev. James Clinton Cummins on December 26, 1937.


Mrs. Cummins was a homemaker and was a Pastors wife for nearly 40 years.


She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Myrna and Dennis Levitt of Norris City, IL; 2 granddaughters, Trisha Levitt and Lisa Burnett both of Carmi; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kylie Levitt and Zakaria Burnett; 1 sister, Opal Bowser of Sumner, IL.


She was preceded in death by her husband and 1 sister, Thelma Roosevelt.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Crest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum near Olney, IL. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
