Mildred Barbre, 87, of Carmi, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 8:40 a.m. at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born on August 4, 1928 in Enfield, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Ruby (Newman) Hart. Mildred married Harry Edward Barbre on September 27, 1947. She was a member of First Christian Church in Carmi and a 60 year plus, member of First United Methodist Church in Carmi where she sang in the choir. Mildred was also a member of Wesleyan Service Guild. Mildred worked as a secretary at Carmi Savings and Loan and later becoming branch manager of Olympic Federal Savings and Loan.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Larry Beck and Sharon and Rex Stallings all of Carmi; three grandchildren, Kara Kessler and husband, Curt, Shannon Nausley and husband, Lex and Jason Stallings and wife, Crystal; and seven great-grandchildren, Kelsi Kessler, Cody, Travis and Kassie Nausley, and Samantha, Sydney and Jordan Stallings.
Funeral services for Mildred Barbre, 87, of Carmi will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Wabash Christian Retirement Center Memory Unit and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
