Michael Schroeder

Michael Allen Schroeder, 66, of New Haven, IL, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.  He was born on October 22, 1952 in Posey County, IN, the son of William C. and Virginia Sue (Hazlett) Schroeder.  He married Jennifer Templeton on July 3, 2002 in Mt. Vernon, and she survives.

Mr. Schroeder retired from CF Industries.  He was a member of American Legion Post #5 for 33 years and also the American Legion Riders.  He was a member of the Moose and VFW post #1114.  He loved to ride motorcycles, rebuild cars and restore guns.  He had worked with his family when they owned Sportsman Alley.

In addition to his wife, Jennifer, he is survived by his daughter, Dayhra Jill (JR) Allen; step- son, Joshua Fulkerson; step-daughter, Karey Pope;  his parents, Bill and Sue;  two grandchildren, Michaela and Gracie Allen; and brother,  David (Sherry) Schroeder. Also survived by nieces, a nephew and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brother Steve on January 11, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Legion Riders Post #5.  Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
