Merle Rogers

Merle J. Rogers, 60 of Woodlawn, IL died on January 16, 2015 at Specialty Select Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born on February 22, 1954 in Chappell, Nebraska, the son of Charles J. and Betty J. (McCluskey) Rogers. He married Linda L. Scott on December 9, 1975 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi, and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2014.

Merle was a U.S. Navy Veteran and Army Reservist. He worked as a Jailer at the White County
Jail for several years, then moved to Sandoval and worked and retired from the Illinois Dept. of
Corrections in Centralia after 27 years as a Corrections Officer.

He is survived by brother, Richard E. (Peggy A.) Rogers of Carmi; sister, Karla (David) Wilborn of Carmi; several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews; and Aunt, Juanita McKee of Carmi; and special friends, Chris and Michelle Bailey of Woodlawn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Wayne Rogers.
