Mayme Wooten
March 30, 1927 — June 3, 2013
Mayme L. Wooten, age 86, of Carmi, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. She was born March 30, 1927, in Carmi, the daughter of Alonzo and Clara (Swafford) Trout.
She attended Maunie Grade School, and later attended Olivet Nazarene College. She married Albert “Ab” Wooten on June 1, 1952, in Carmi, and he preceded her in death April 30, 2007. Mrs. Wooten worked as a floor supervisor at Ainsbrooke until it closed. She was a member of the Carmi Church of The Nazarene.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ron and Melinda Wooten of Carmi, and Roger and Kathy Wooten of Dexter, MO; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Lonnie Trout of Carmi, Jerry and Diane Trout of Rupert, W. Virginia, Larry and Donnita Trout of Bourbonnais, and Wesley and Debbie Trout of Crossville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie Wooten, Tyler and Jill Wooten, Joshua and Tabetha Wooten, Jody and Kim Wooten, and Brady and Jessica Wooten; a great-grandchild, Avery Marie Wooten; three step-great-grandchildren, Samantha, Shane, and Michael Trail; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Ab”; four brothers, Delbert, Willard, Lee, and Herschel Trout; and one sister, Betty Lingafelter.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 10:00 am at the Carmi Church of The Nazaraene with Rev. Roger Wooten and Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will take place in North Maple Ridge Cemetery.
