Maxine Maier

Maxine Maier, 81, of Carmi, passed away at 8:35 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born on January 26, 1933 in Holdenville, OK, the daughter of Elmer and Lorene (Lucas) Sexton. Maxine married Robert Eugene "Sug" Maier on August 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2004. She had worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for Dr. Charles Myrna, DDS and was a member of Stewart St. Baptist Church.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Michael E. Maier and his companion, Mardi Small of Bloomington, IL and Monte D. Maier and his fiancAC., Joyce Knies of Jasper, IN; five grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, Jacob, Olivia and Sara Kate Maier; a brother, Darrell Sexton of Carmi; a sister, Sue Gilbert and husband, Dean of Decatur, IL; and three sisters-in-law, Jan Sexton of Carmi, Sandy Sexton of San Diego, CA and Marge Maier of Crossville. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell Allen Maier a sister, Christine Brandenstein and three brothers, Leland, Kenny and Gerald Sexton.
Services and burial will be private in Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements
