Biography
Matthew A. Scott, age 49 of Mt. Vernon passed away Sunday afternoon May 4, 2014 at his home. He was born May 23, 1964 at San Antonio, TX the son of Robert and Rosetta (Newman) Scott. He married Debbie Willis on June 6, 1992 at Enfield, IL.
Matt worked as a boilermaker with Local 374. Most of his time was spent with Sterling Boiler Mechanical. He loved riding his Harley and fishing and camping. He especially loved spending time with his grandbabies. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Debbie; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Kelsey (Jordan) Ambrous and Kaylee Scott both of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Clinton Scott and Maverick Ambrous; his mother, Rosetta Scott of Newburgh; brothers, Robert (Debbie) Scott of Santa Claus, Jeff (Sherri) Scott of St. Phillips and Roy (Ladonna) Scott of Newburgh; sister, Gail Scott (Billy Fitzgerald) Hames of Evansville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
