Mary Whetstone

Mary Janice Whetstone 85 of Carmi, passed away Monday March 11, 2019 at Wabash Christian Village. She was born November 27, 1933 in Oatsville, IN the daughter of Jesse Wilford and Flossie (Miller) Barrett.

Janice worked in the White County Clerks office for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of Carmi First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Ray (Friend Sandy) Lytle; daughters, Jane (Lynn) Simmons and Tonya (Kelley) Vaupel; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Max Lytle; daughter, Angie Pfister; grandsons, Christopher Vaupel and Dylan Lytle and great grandson, Noah Yeley.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday March 16, 2019 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Chaplain Mike Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Atkinson Chapel Cemetery in Oatsville, IN.
