Mary Neola Stroud, 80, of Broughton, IL, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 6:10 p.m. at Ridgway Rehab and Nursing in Ridgway, IL. She was born August 7, 1932 in Lake City, Arkansas, the daughter of John Cecil and Ida Leona (Robinson) McCulley. She married James D. Stroud October 1, 1950 and he preceded her in death August 20, 1998. Mary had worked as a laborer with A.O. Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Frankie Mae Bean of West Frankfort; two sons, Raymond Douglass Stroud and Cecil Allen Stroud both of Broughton; two sisters, Patricia Kay Powell of Mississippi and Shirley Jean McMillan of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, William Donall McCulley of California and John Cecil McCulley of Oliver, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Leona Kay Tipp a son, James Donald Stroud; and four sisters, Francis Daphine Sayles, Betty Lee Gourley, Eva Jane Wagenschin, and Linda Mae Embree.
Funeral services for Mary Neola Stroud, 80, of Broughton, IL, will be private. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
