Mary Stanhouse

Mary Jane Stanhouse, 93, of Carmi, passed away at 2:55 p.m, Monday, November 27, 2017 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. She was born in West Frankfort, IL on December 31, 1923 the daughter of Roy and Mary (McClintock) Boner. Mary married David Paul Stanhouse and he preceded her in death in March 1983. She had worked at Washington School as an English and Art Teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi.
Mary is survived by a son, David Bruce (Grace) Stanhouse, of Clayton, MO; daughter, Kathy (Dr. Carl) Funkhouser, of Carmi; and a sister, Virginia Taylor, of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Mary Boner, her husband, David Stanhouse, two brothers, Roger and Eugene Boner, and two sisters, Olive Boner and Dorothy Kuehn.
A private graveside funeral services for Mary Jane Stanhouse, 93, of Carmi were held at 1:00 pm., Friday, December 1, 2017 at Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL.
