Mary Phillips

Mary Christina "Teeny" Phillips, 88, of Carmi, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Wabash Christian Village. She was born in Crossville, IL to Sherman "Mac" Smith and Hannah (Jacobs) Crandall. Teeny married Jacob Frank Slankard in 1949. She later married Oscar Wayne Phillips. Teeny enjoyed playing cards with friends, bingo, thrift store shopping and really enjoyed her dogs. A special thanks to the Wabash Christian Village staff.

Teeny is survived by a son,  Dennis Slankard, of Chino Valley, Arizona;  daughter, Christie (Gary) Ericson, of Streamwood, IL; granddaughter, Alyssa Slankard, two grandsons, Alex Ericson and Kurt (Courtney) Ericson. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Sue Smith, one son, Aaron Slankard and a granddaughter, Kelli Cummins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Teeny's memory to Wabash Christian Village and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
