Mary Nussel

Mary Elizabeth (Hutchinson) Nussel, 86, of Mt. Vernon, died, Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, IN. Mary was born February 6, 1919 in Centerville, IL, the oldest daughter of Thomas and Caroline (Rhein) Hutchinson. Mary had worked at the Salvation Army Store in Mt. Vernon as manager for many years and had also worked at the Schmucks and Parkmore restaurants.
Mary is survived by her daughter Barbara and her husband Jackson Higgins, daughter Judith and her husband John West of Mt.Vernon, and her son John and his wife Sandra Nussel of Evansville and daughter-in-law, Ann Nussel of Mt. Vernon. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Nussel in 1980,two sons, Billy and Thomas Nussel, her granddaughter, Catherine Nussel, her sisters, Florence Esche and Dora Weiss and her brother Frederick Hutchinson.
Family and friends may call on Friday, June 17, 2005 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 PM and on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until service time at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street in Mt. Vernon, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Austin Funeral Home with Rev. Ruth Milgate officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Memorial contributions can be made to the Deaconess Ohio Valley Hospice.
