Mary Foley

Mary Jane Foley 99 of Enfield, passed away Saturday morning July 11, 2015 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born June 4, 1916 at Mariana, AR, the daughter of Robert Eli and Bessie Cecil (Wood) Rodden. She married George Wilburn “Wib” Foley on August 4, 1931 at Helena, AR and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2000.

Mary Jane had worked as the Enfield Telephone Operator, she also cleaned homes and was a long time member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Enfield. She loved her family and also leaves behind her dog, Buster.

She is survived by daughters, Mildred (Lawrence) Medlin of Enfield, Shirley (Don) Smith of Enfield, and Susan (Bruce) Pearson of Springfield; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Billy Foley; daughters, Louise Robertson and Linda Carol Hames, a granddaughter, brothers, Willie, James and Arthur; and sisters, Pauline Evans, Cornelia Bowen, Sophie E. Glassco, Georgia Rogers and Ruby Lofton.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday July 14, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Tim Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Kitty Sweetin Cemetery.
