Mary Cox

Mary V. (Carnal) Cox, 88, of Mt. Vernon, died at 10:25 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 21, 1918 in Evansville, IN daughter of Alfred and Melvina (Beckham) Carnal. She retired in 1978 from Boatman’s Bank where she was Credit Manager. After retirement Mary worked for Sears Credit and as a tour guide for Historic New Harmony. Mary was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and Church Women United. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Cox in 1975, and a grandson, Rick Ricketts in 1995.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Ricketts and her husband Donnie of Mt. Vernon; 2 sisters, Millie Pool of Hansen, KY and Dottie Rutt of Evansville, IN; her granddaughter, Lisa Ziegler and her husband Danny Joe of Mt Vernon; grandchildren, Chase Ziegler of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas and Rachel Ziegler of Mt. Vernon, her dearest friend, Lucy Ziegler of Mt Vernon and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mt.Vernon, IN with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the funeral home.
