Mary Bryant-Ellison

Mary Bryant-Ellison, 97, of Carmi, formerly of Norris City, passed away at 8:09 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  She was born in Norris City, IL on April 4, 1920, the daughter of Horace Henry and Gracie Mabel (Leyerle) Davis.  Mary married Laymon Bryant on July 2, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1985.  She later married Lawrence Ellison on December 3, 2002 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2013.  Mary had worked as a sales clerk and manager at Brackes.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Jean Sneed of Carmi, Evelyn (David) Fagan of Dahlgren and Edna (Duane) Lovellette of Eldorado; a son, Herman E. (Ann) Bryant of Eldorado; nine grandchildren, Joyce (Dave) Edwards, Darrell (Cindy) Sneed, Jeanie (Mike) Young, Todd (Jody) Bryant, Scott Bryant, Erinn (Sean) Pickford, Bryan (Jody) Fagan, Neal (Christy) Haynes and Nick (Tara) Haynes; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, L.G. Bryant; a daughter, Alma Jane Sneed; brother, Paul Davis, two sisters, Virginia Waters, and Wanda Palmer; a son-in-law, Bill Sneed; and two grandchildren, Roger Sneed and Dean Lovellette.

Funeral services for Mary Bryant-Ellison, 97, of Carmi, formerly of Norris City will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Norris City.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Wabash Christian Village Activity Department and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
