Marshall R. Pollard, 77, of Carmi passed away at 7:40 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. He was born July 16, 1937 in Enfield, IL the son of Raymond Edward and Reba Fern (Stallings) Pollard. Marshall was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Carmi American Legion Post #224 and of the Baptist faith. He was a truck driver for 44 years for various companies including Browns Feed Store.
Marshall is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and George T. Churchwell, Jr. and Marsha and Ron Vining of Lafayette, LA; three step-daughters, Donna Unfried, Becky McCormick and Cheryl Burnett all of Carmi; a sister, Pat "Annie Mae" Marler of Carmi; two brother and sisters-in-law, Richard and Faye Pollard and Bob and Sharon Pollard all of Carmi; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Bryant, Amanda Churchwell, Alexa Churchwell, Tyler Vining and Brandon Vining; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by two sisters, Joyce Martin and Ann Wheeler Norris and three brothers, Billy Joe, Paul Edward and Jim Pollard
Funeral Services for Marshall R. Pollard, 77, of Carmi will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Kenny Rager officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Sunday from noon until service time.
