Mark Hoy

    Mark Allen Hoy, 51, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1972, in Morris, Illinois, the son of Gerald Dean and Maureen (Allen) Hoy. Mark graduated from Carmi Christian School and went on to get his CDL's at Southeastern Illinois College. He worked at Hale Body Shop and more recently, for Joe's Lawn Care, as well as part time for Jansen's in Carmi. 

   Mark is survived by his mother and step-father, Maureen and Frank Speller of Carmi, IL; Longtime companion, Lavenia Russell of Carmi, IL; a sister, Karen (Alan) Shorb of Carmi, IL; a daughter, Brittany Easton of Carmi, IL; nieces, Morgan James, McKenzie Taylor and Annaleise Shorb; two great-nieces, Jenna and Oaklyn; and three great-nephews, Jacob, Asher and Hendrix. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Dean Hoy; grandparents, Walter and Juanita Hoy and Roy and Mary Allen.

   Keeping with Mark's wishes, no services will be held. Contributions can be made in Mark's memory to the Carmi Compassion Center or to Pets at Risk and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements
