Mark Gist

Mark R. Gist, age 49 of Mt. Vernon, IN died Wednesday morning February 27, 2013 at his home. He was born September 13, 1963 in Charleston, SC the son of William and Elizabeth (Swint) Gist. He was married to Katrina Carnahan.

Mark was a lead guitarist. He has opened for Jason Aldean and played with the Drifters. He played in many local bands in Charleston, Sommerville and Moncks Corner, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Katrina; 2 daughters, Jessica and her husband, Nick Phillips and Amanda Kolb all of Mt. Vernon; 2 grandchildren, Joseph Lee and Hunter Gage Phillips.

Private services will be held. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN is in charge of arrangements.
