Marjorie Stratton

Marjorie S. Stratton, 75 of Mount Vernon, IN passed away early Thursday morning November 10, 2016 at her home. She was born April 13, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Ralph M. and Nellie M. (Chandler) Turner. She married Edward "Franklin" Stratton on June 28, 1959.

Marjorie had worked in the school cafeteria. She and her family enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Church of God Mission where she was active in the ladies aide and had been a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her husband Franklin; her son, Edward Franklin Stratton, Jr; brothers, Edward Sellner, Ralph, Robert, and Gary (Peggy) Turner, and Tom (Janie) Meissner; sister, Toni (Herman) Roach. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great and great-great, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Tina Ziegler; brother, Donald Ray Sellner and sister, Mary Ruth Greenwell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with Rev. Rick Brock officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
