Marjorie N. Maier, 86, of Crossville passed away at 12:00 a.m., Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Texas on October 29, 1931 the daughter of James and Velma (Simmons) Willis. Marjorie married Norbert F. Maier on March 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2014. She had worked as a telephone operator, the Wabash Toll Bridge and alongside her husband at Maier Grocery Store along with raising her four children. Marjorie played Rummy every morning and was the second best player. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Brad (Becky) Maier and Doug (Susan) Maier; two daughters, Brenda (Ron) Eaton and Debbie (Jim) Ashby; eight grandchildren, Paige Maier, Nicole Maier, Mallory (Alex) Acheson, Bria Ashby. Jason (Cassie) Easton, Shawn (Kate) Ashby, Trey (Jeniya) Ashby and Kelsey Maier; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Merle Shedelbower of Newton, IL and Dorothy McKain of Boonville, IN.
A private celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to FOP #249 Cops and Kids Program and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
