Marjorie L. Cox

    Marjorie L. Cox, 91, of Carmi passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  She was born in Carmi on April 4, 1931 the daughter of E.K. and Mabel (Vaught) Barbre. Marge married Charles O. Cox and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.  She owned and operated a beauty shop for many years.  Marge was a member of First Baptist Church in Carmi and active in the Lydia Sunday School Class.

    Marjorie is survived by her daughters Jo Ann Juliano of Palm Desert, California, Janice Page Of Newark, Ohio, Jane (Rich) Jander of Chicago, Illinois; and two grandchildren Shelly Shaw of Belpre, Ohio, David Harness, Oceanside, CA, a niece and nephew,  Carla Barbre of Smiths Green, KY and Gary "Dink" Nichols of Carmi 2 great nieces; Serena Dunn and Starlett Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents; Bertram Barbre; Mabel Barbre,husband, Charles Cox; two brothers : Charles Barbre and Carl (Bub) Barbre; a niece and nephew: Kandy Dunn and Tony Barbre.

      A graveside funeral service for Marjorie L. Cox will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi immediately following a visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marge's memory to the First Baptist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
