Biography
Marjorie L. Barlow, 92 of Enfield, died Wednesday afternoon July 30, 2014 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born October 10, 1921 at Ridgeway, the daughter of Valentine and Audra (Ramsey) Pyle. She married Robert C. Barlow on May 31, 1942 at Cape Giraudeau, MO and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2005.
Marjorie owned and operated Barlow Insurance for 20 years. She was 50+ year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, reading, antiquing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Christian Belles at the Enfield Christian Church.
She is survived by 1 son, Carroll (Margaret) Barlow of New Athens; 1 daughter, Anna L. (Jim) Lane of Enfield; 5 grandchildren, Cindy (Max) Lowery of Norris City, Kendall (Melody) Lane of Walsh, Lisa (Carl) South of Enfield, Mark Barlow of St. Louis, MO and Michelle Barlow of New Athens; 8 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, Ivan G. Pyle and 2 sisters, Margaret Ann Pyle and Madge Hope.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with Fred Leeds officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Enfield Christian Church or the Enfield General Baptist Church.
