Marjorie Baker, 76, of Carmi, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:07 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born on March 4, 1939 in Chesterville, IL, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Hoback) Chumbley. Marjorie was a seamstress, working at Ainsbrook Sewing Factory and Johnny Manufacturing. She was a member of Crossroads Bible Church in Norris City and Prayer Mountain Billye Brim Ministries.
Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Dawn Stewart of Carmi; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Gayla Baker of Carterville; and three grandsons, Camden and Easton Stewart and Peter Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herman and Howard Chumbley; and three sisters, Mildred Alexander, Loveless Artis and Macel Smith.
Funeral services for Marjorie Baker, 76, of Carmi will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at RIG Ministries with Mark Allen officiating. Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may call at RIG Ministries on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m until service time. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
