Marilyn (Funkhouser) Williams, 92, of Carmi, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. She was born on February 11, 1931, the daughter of John Cyrus and Mary Grace (Kennett) Funkhouser. Marilyn married Albert Floyd Williams on September 4, 1948, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1999. She spent her life as a farm wife. Marilyn was a member of the First Christian Church in Carmi. She liked to read and loved to cook.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Lee Ann (C.H.) Allyn of Carmi, IL and Alan Ray Williams of Mill Shoals, IL; four grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Martin, Emily (Benji) DeVillez, Ryan (Shannon) Webb and Luke Williams; six great-grandchildren, Cooper, Caroline, Reese, Allee, Connor and Cole. In addition to her husband, Albert Williams, Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Elaine Williams; two grandchildren, Katie and Cassie Williams; and a sister, Betty Lamont.
Funeral Services for Marilyn Williams will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at First Christian Church in Carmi, with burial at Centerville Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, February 20. 2023, at First Christian Church in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marilyn's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
