Marilyn Vande Stadt

Marilyn D. Vande Stadt, 84, of Carmi, passed away at 8:01 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. She was born in Cleveland, OH on September 7, 1932 the daughter of John D. and Ruth (Warren) Disbrow. Marilyn married Cornelis George Vande Stadt on August 29, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2011. She was a graduate of Bay High School in Bay Village, OH. She then went on to study at  Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. Marilyn previously worked as a secretary in various companies.

Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Ginny (Vande Stadt) Murphy of Carmi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren "Karen" Vande Stadt of Mitchell, SD and Keith "Barri" Vande Stadt of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren, Ken "Mandy" Bunting, Bryan "Jessica" Vande Stadt,  Erin "Steve" Remley, Kelly (Bunting) George, Kolt and Katie Murphy,  Kees and Aidan Vande Stadt; and eight great-grandchildren and one due in April, Rachel and Mary Bunting, James and Gabriel Remley, Gage and Van George, and Nash and Hadley Hollatz. She is preceded in death by her husband Cornelis George Vande Stadt; parents John D. and Ruth Disbrow; and a sister Jean (Disbrow) Foreman.

Funeral services for Marilyn D. Vande Stadt, 84, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's memory to Wabash Christian Retirement Center Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
