Marilyn Joyce James, 81, of Norris City passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was born March 18, 1936 in Norris City the daughter of Claude and Marie (Bryant) Brooks. Marilyn married Donald Ray James on February 16, 1968. She was a christian and had worked as a CNA at Enfield Nursing and Rehab and later the Roadmaster Bicycle Plant.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Donald; four daughters, Diana Lynch, of Belmont, MS, Judy (Christopher) Phillips, of Herald, IL, Kenda (David) Tharp, of McLeansboro and Kelly (Kelly Beauchamp) Turrentine, of Norris City; three brothers, Denny Brooks, of Norris City, Allen Brooks, of McLeansboro and Steve Brooks, of Eldorado; three sisters, Dorothy Brown and Linda Martin both of Carmi and Betty Martin, of Lakeland, FL; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Brooks and four sisters, Carol Brooks, Fay Drone, Jean Campbell and Virginia Chapman.
A graveside funeral and burial for Marilyn Joyce James, 81, of Norris City will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Powell Cemetery in Norris City. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
