Marie Elliott, 88 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born May 6, 1927 in Roan Mt., TN the daughter of Daley and Vertie (Tolley) Whittington. She married Therman Elliott on June 28, 1947.
Marie was a homemaker. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Point Township Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Therman; her son, Larry Elliott; and daughter, Armetta (Roger) Redman all of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Aaron (Melinda) Redman, Amanda (Jason) Hamilton, Rachael (Greg) Hathaway, Amy, Ashley and Clay Elliott; great-grandchildren, Addie, Jayce, Paige, Kayden, Nathaniel, Olivia, Grant, Blake, Luke, Brady, Marcus, Aidan and Dakota; sisters, Ruth Orr of Roan Mt., TN and Johnnie Haley of Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Jessie Marie Elliott.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 23, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with Rev. Dallas Robinson and Rev. Troy DeKemper officiating.
