Margaret (Mattingly) Gunnels 89 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her home with family by her side. She was born November 27, 1929 to Wilson & Mary Ann (Nelson) Mattingly in Morganfield, Kentucky. She married Dallas Gunnels on September 3, 1980 and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Margaret had worked as a clerk for a Lawyer’s office as well as a cook for various restaurants and Posey County Jail. Margaret was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her many friends. She also enjoyed gardening, playing slots, cracking jokes, and crafts.

Margaret is survived by her Sons; John M. Reynolds and Roger L. Reynolds, 17 Grandchildren, 58 Great- Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, Sister; Janice Cain, Son-in-Law; David Voyles

She is preceded in death by her Husband; Dallas Gunnels, Sons; William F Reynolds, Robert D. Reynolds, Daughter; Mary K. Voyles, Grandchildren; Angel Spinks, Roland L. Reynolds, Tammy S. Madglin, Brother; Arthur Mattingly, Wilson Bill Mattingly, Sylvester Mattingly, J.D. Mattingly, Henry Mattingly, Sisters; Mary A Russel, Lorene Utley, Lillian Hawkins, Great Grandchild; Roger Reynolds, Daughter-in-Law; Teresa Reynolds.

Funeral services will be at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon on Saturday, March 3rd at 1:00 pm with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
