Marcus Morris

Marcus Edward Morris, 51, of Carmi, passed away on Monday March 29, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 2, 1969, the son of Jesse and Ola (Hosier) Morris.  Marcus was a self employed mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and most of all, being a grandpa.

Marcus is survived by his children, Dalton Morris of Carmi, IL., Tyler Morris of Carmi, IL., Jessie Morris of Carmi, IL., Marcus Morris of Albion, IL., and George Morris of Olney, IL.; a granddaughter, Ola Morris of Carmi, IL.; siblings, Luther T. Morris and wife Patricia Morris of Bridgeport, IL., John A. Morris and wife Stella Morris of McLeansboro, IL., Mattie M. Morrison of Equality, IL., Alesia J. Shirley & husband Raymond Shirley Sr. of Marion, IL., Linda S. Prater of Carmi, IL., and Violet L. Tyson and husband Sandy Tyson of Crossville, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother in law Mary & Roy Morrison, sister Jessica Morris, brother in law Paul Prater, brother Monroe Morris and infant brother.

Funeral Services for Marcus Edward Morris will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. till time of service. Contributions can be made in Marcus' memory to assist the family with funeral expenses and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements .In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
