Mamie Ilene Buttry, 96, of Norris City, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony, IN. She was born in New Haven, IL on July 10, 1920, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Smith) Browning. She married Benjamin F. Trousdale and he preceded her in death. She later married Edd Buttry and he also preceded her in death. Mamie was a homemaker and also worked at Ainsbrook Sewing Factory in Carmi. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and Eastern Star.
Mamie is survived by two daughters, Mary (Richard B.) Dixon of Mt. Vernon, IN and Benneta Preston of Metropolis, IL; one son, Norman R. (Betty) Trousdale of Norris City; four grandchildren, Deborah (George) Morgan, Richard Stephen (Lisa) Dixon, Elizabeth (Roger) Faughn, and Lance Trousdale; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Sethlyn Morgan, Nate and Jade Dixon, Hayden and Madelyn Faughn, and DJ Trousdale. Mamie was preceeded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Ike Preston; six brothers, Fred, Roy, Elmer, Everett, Bob, and Henry Browning; and four sisters, Geneva Pease, Mary Sutton, Flora Ramsey, and Ethlyn Smith.
Funeral services for Mamie Buttry, 96, of Norris City, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near Norris City. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Memorial contributions may be made in Mamie's memory to a favorite charity and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
