Malcolm G. Kessler, 92 of Mount Vernon, IN, passed away Sunday February 28, 2016 at Salarbron Terrace in Evansville. He was born August 20, 1923 in Point Township, the son of Oscar Elmer and Beulah V. (Bonenbarger) Kessler. He married Helen Guth on February 16, 1946 in Kentucky.
Malcolm had worked at Mt. Vernon Farm Equipment from 1949-65, he then worked as a mechanic at GE until his retirement in 1986. He graduated from New Harmony High School in 1943. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Mark (NonaSue) Kessler and Rick (Marsha) Kessler; daughters, Donna (L. David) Allyn and Rhonda (Ronald) Sammet; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew and Michael Allyn, Leanna and Jason Sammet; Brittany Kessler, Andy, Nick, and Micah Kessler; great grandchildren, Zackary, Grant, Amber, Alaina, Louis, Lindsey and Lacey Allyn, Julia, Joshua, Annaleah and Isabel Sammet; two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; and a half sister, Katherine Hubert.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday March 5, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home, 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with John Hilbert officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
