M. Lane

M. David Lane, 70, of McLeansboro passed away at 12:52 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born July 1, 1944 in Enfield, IL the son of Clinton Huston and Kathryn Ann (Cox) Lane. David married Velma L. Periman on October 25, 1961. He was a heavy equipment operator for River Cement in Festus, MO for 23 years and also drove a truck for Ste. Genevieve Industries. David enjoyed horses.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Velma of McLeansboro; three daughters and a son-in-law, Stacy Roberts of Arnold, MO, Denita Jo and Dan Schilli of Bloomsdale, MO and Gena Rae Lane of McLeansboro; a son, Scott Lane of Huntsville, AL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and David Vickers of Omaha and Dianna and Ed Howell of Point, TX; a brother, Mark Lane of Plano, TX; seven grandchildren, Josh Lane, Christen Ries, Marshall Lane, Devin Schilli, Darissa Schilli, Justin Carron and Karley Henderson; and five and half great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Lane.

Funeral services for M. David Lane, 70, of McLeansboro will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
